Tan Sri Dato Hanafiah Hussain

Tan Sri Dato Hanafiah Hussain, FCA, is a Malaysian with a long and distinguished commercial and political career. Educated in England at the University of Manchester and as a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Tan Sri is the recipient of 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Malaysia City Group. He was chosen by The Rt. Hon'ble Dr. Mahathir, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, to serve in Taiwan, ROC, as his special envoy with the rank of ambassador, from 1986 to 1990.

 
 

He was instrumental in enhancing bilateral relations between Taiwan and Malaysia and played a major role in promoting Malaysia to Taiwanese entrepreneurs and investors resulting in manifold increase in two-way trade and commerce. Currently, Tan Sri is the Advisor to Taipei Investors' Association in Malaysia (TIAM) comprising 1800 investors. Some of the major investors are Acer Technologies, Chung Hwa Picture Tube, Titan Group, Far East Group, Hualon etc. After Taiwan, Tan Sri was appointed Executive Chairman of Government-owned Bank Bumiputra Malaysia and privately-owned South East Asia Bank Ltd. Mauritius.

 
 

In commerce and business, Tan Sri enjoyed the trust and confidence of his peers with his election as the President of the Malaysian Malay Chambers of Commerce for five consecutive years and as President of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce in 1969.

 
 

He was also selected to spearhead the establishment in 1963 of the highly successful Malaysian Muslim Pilgrim Savings Corporation (Tabung Haji).

 
 

A highly-respected UMNO politician to this day, Tan Sri has served as a Member of Parliament for ten consecutive years between 1964 and 1974, and Supreme Council Member and Treasurer of the Government party in power (UMNO).

 
 

A Rotarian, a Diplomat, a Banker and a politician, for his many varied meritorious services and contributions, Tan Sri was bestowed various awards and orders of chivalry by His Majesty, The King of Malaysia.

Director:
Budiman Effendi

Mr. Effendi has extensive experience in banking and finance commencing from 1975 at Citibank Jakarta to positions as Credit Controller and Branch Manager at Transamerica National Bank NA, Los Angeles and Executive Director of Summa Group having interest in Summa International Finance Co. Ltd. (a Deposit Taking Company in Hong Kong), Summa International (Thai) Ltd Bangkok, Summa Surya Ltd, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (1984-1993).

In 1994, Mr. Effendi moved to Jakarta and joined as group Director in PT. Jakarta International Hotels and Development (JIHD), a blue chip public listed company having interest in multi property development of Hotel Borobudur, Kusuma Chandra Apartment, SCBD Suites, Pacific Place and mini-office buildings complex Lot 18.

Mr. Effendi also played a major role in raising capital of USD 400 million via a rights issue for JIHD acquisition of PT. Satelindo, a satellite smartphone provider back then in 1996; Bond Issuance for JIHD amounting to Rp.600 billion in 1997. He also took charge of latter’s Corporate Debt Restructuring Program post 1998 Indonesian monetary crisis.

Mr. Effendi has a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University, Montreal and an MBA in Banking and Finance from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. He was once elected as Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Indonesian Bankers Association (1988-1991).

Independent Non-Executive Director:
Datuk Azizan Abd Rahman

Datuk Azizan Hj Abd Rahman, Malaysian, was appointed to the Board of City Credit Investment Bank Ltd on 29 January 2015 as an Independent Non-Executive Director. He has more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry. He began his career in Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”) in 1979 where he held several positions in the areas of finance, examination and supervision, and was also the Director of the Banking Supervision Department. While in BNM, Datuk Azizan was a board member of Kumpulan Wang Amanah Pencen and ERF Sdn Bhd, and also an Advisor to the Malaysian Accounting Standard Board.

Datuk Azizan was the former Director-General of Labuan Financial Services Authority (“Labuan FSA”) where he served for more than six years until his retirement in 2011. During his tenure, he has contributed unwavering to the growth of Labuan IBFC and has successfully implemented repositioning study of Labuan IBFC, rebranding of Labuan FSA, enhancing legislation to place Labuan IBFC at par with international legal standard and strengthening of Islamic Financing in Labuan IBFC. While serving in Labuan FSA, Datuk Azizan was a member of several boards, including Labuan Corporation and Financial Park (Labuan) Sdn Bhd, as well as an executive committee member of the Malaysian Islamic Finance Committee.

Datuk Azizan is currently a board member of OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, MIDF Bhd, MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd, Kensington Trust Labuan Ltd, Kensington Trust Malaysia Bhd, Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad, Cagamas Holdings Bhd and Cagamas SRP Bhd. He also holds directorships in several private limited companies.

Datuk Azizan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University Malaya in 1979 and obtained his Masters in Business Administration from University of Queensland, Australia in 1994. He is a fellow member of CPA Australia and a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
